We are all aware about the epidemic Covid 19 and how it spread across the length & breadth of our Motherland.
Due to the pandemic nature of this virus, the greatest impact was to the poor and daily workers across India. With shutdowns everywhere, these people had no means to earn or get food. Our affiliated service organizations rose to the occasion to serve the underprivileged with approvals from the local authorities without compromising on social distancing.
The volunteers of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations in various states organized community kitchens to serve meal packages in the rural and slums. Dry food kits containing grains, flour, oil, tea and spices were also distributed to families all organized with utmost precautions.
At the height of the pandemic, many infected people needed oxygen supply. With shortage of hospital facilities, people needed portable oxygen supply. Our Trust provided over 300 O2 concentrators and 3 mini oxygen plants. Oxygen Plants were installed at two Super Specialty Hospitals in Puttaparthi and Whitefield, Bengaluru run by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
The undertaking has touched 100s of thousands of lives and will continue to serve and is ready for future pandemic emergency.
In one of His discourses, Sri Sathya Sai Baba said, “It is the weak, the destitute and the helpless who need to be served. Even in rendering service to such persons, there should be no feeling that we are serving
“others”. We should feel that we are serving the Lord Narayana who dwells in them.”
Thus, the Sai Organisation dedicates these efforts at His Lotus Feet in its endeavour to help the needy with the feeling that it is only HE who is being served and only HE who is serving and with a prayer that He continues to guide and bless us in this initiative.
